MAJOR EVENTS

The New Zealand Jewellery Show 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11 – Owner, director, exhibition designer and organiser of this inaugural national event, held in June this year. The exhibition featured the work of New Zealand-based contemporary and traditional jewellery designers, crafters and students and was opened by the Prime Minister in 2006. 3,000 people attended the exhibition and the jewellers are keen to have this as their annual national forum.

Pinot Noir 2001 and Pinot Noir 2003 Co–director of full event management and sponsorship of this on–shore promotion of New Zealand wine for the off–shore market. 600 delegates (45% offshore) attended a week of food / wine events with international speakers and associated media.

The Vector Wellington Orchestra Events at Government House – design and delivery of an outdoor concert of the regional orchestra at Government House hosted by the Governor General. 2,000 people attend annually and receive a packed hamper lunch with wine.

The Lord of the Rings – Event Co-Director of the New Zealand premieres of the first two films of Peter Jackson´s Trilogy. Responsible for designing and delivering the premiere events for the Distributor, Village Roadshow.

IntensCity Week – a week of activities focusing on the urban design aspects of Wellington City. The programme included an outdoor exhibition on Aitken Street and an Awards evening and exhibition in the State insurance foyer for which The Whiteboard had responsibility.

OPEN HOUSE 2005 – Engaged by the Wellington City Council Ministry for the Environment to devise and implement a nationwide community-based event celebrating the Year of the Built Environment. 50 buildings nationwide were opened to the general public, many of which are not normally open to view. The Open House was attended by 17,500 visitors.

The Centenary Celebrations for the Wellington Town Hall 2004 – Programme designer and project manager for the Wellington City Council´s celebration of the City´s Town Hall, which turned 100 in 2004. The highlight of the events was a fully scripted performance of the history of the building with local personalities, orchestra, choirs, and other performers supported by moving and still images.

The World Floral Art Show 1996 –Sponsorship and marketing consultant for the once–in–thirty–years opportunity for New Zealand to host this international event. 32,000 people visited in 4 days.

The BT Global Challenge 2000 – Team leader for the management of on-shore events for the Wellington stopover. Responsibility for all areas including the competing teams and their yachts, the technical and communications centre, the international technology display for sponsors, the public information centre, branding, a gala dinner for the teams and the race departure. 30,000 people attended the send-off of the fleet in Wellington harbour.

The Wellington Airport Opening – A large scale public event attracting over 20,000 people to welcome the new terminal. The day was packed with entertainment, celebrities and activities. A free of charge bus transport for the public was negotiated with a sponsor.

The Opening of Reading Cinemas in Wellington – project managed the opening of New Zealand´s most sophisticated development in cinema complexes. The event involved the American owners, New Zealand´s Prime Minister and guests attending a film premiere, and a public day of performance and activities opened by the city´s mayor.

The Wellington Fashion Festival and Fashion Awards – designed and implemented the annual Fashion Festival in Wellington. This event included the design and execution of the Fashion Awards sponsored by Trade and Enterprise New Zealand.

Products and Services Presentation: Commercial client – The design and delivery of presentation by a major brand in home theatre and audio entertainment to their dealers nationwide. The event at Sky City involved national and international celebrities, a full audio–visual production and Gala Dinner.
